Hello friends!!! How are all of you? I certainly hope that you enjoyed our Teacher's Day Events...Many people missed it, they didnt show up, well...TOO BAD!!!! It was really good, everyone liked it. It was the best organized event so far in our Centre. If i had to give marks, this event would have gotten 75/100. Our fresher's party would have gotten 30/100 and the HR quiz would have gotten 25/100. Both were super-duper flops. This 75/100 which im giving for our show is for overall execution. For dedication and commitment, our organizing team would have gotten 95/100...top marks! even tho everyone enjoyed the show, i still feel that there is a lot of room for improvement..Most of the confusion that happened today was not really our fault, since the whole itenary got changed exactly 10 mins before the start of the show...But still, we cant use tht as an excuse. I hope all of who were in the organizing commitee learned valuable lessons..with gained experience, im sure that our next event will run even more smoothly..
I have one regret for the day tho..It was concerning the Vote of Thanks given by our senior. it was not that it was boring or unintelligible, but the fact that she suffered acute amnesia when it came to thanking the actual people who did the work..Luckily, i suffer no such memory losses, so i present to you, my personal Vote Of Thanks:
1. First of all, i would like to thank my senior Nisha, for showing us exactly what NOT to do during a Vote of Thanks. I have learnt many valuable tips from her, and i shall implement it next time i have to give a speech (basically i will do exact opposite of whatever she did)..
2. Next on my list is Rahul. He is the most cool-headed guy i have met, and the best to have under any kind of emergency. He not only handled ALL the responsibilities i gave him, but he took on many more without me asking him, and he executed them brilliantly...Thanks Rahul...
3. I would also like to thank our Fazela. Shes a bit hot headed sometimes, but i think a forceful character is required for a leader. She was the perfect complement for Rahul, and together they worked as a perfect team. i think all of us can learn a lot from them, especially their dedication and hard work should be taken up as examples for everyone else..Thanks a lot Fazela....
4. Next i would like to thank the team of Mozzammil, Naveen and rohit.I think their Kaun Banega Dassvi Pass was the best event of the whole day...there was audio, video, speed round....the teachers really loved it..u guys rocked!!!!
5. I would also like to thank shweta, who single-handedly organized the entire "Bollywood Bollywood" Show..if any one of u noticed, she gave a speech of thanks at the end of her event..Now that's what i call a Vote of Thanks..Thanks Shweta, for knowing the actual definition of a vote of thanks...too bad our senior didnt...
6. I also want to thank the Ladies-only team of Hafsa, Shahla and Huma.. As usual, they did all the odd jobs that no one else wanted to do..They wrote the titles and poems for each teacher, filled out all the cards, decorated the hall, and a hundred other small small things that made a huge difference to the outcome of the entire event..my only complaint is that i think you girls should take on a much bigger role in the events, and should come in the limelight a bit more..You obviously have talent, i think its just a little bit of confidence ur lacking...the next MAJOR event coming up is our Alumni Meet, Rubaroo..I would like you girls to take the initiative this time and organize everything..
7. Next person i would like to thank is Naiyyer and fazlur. He was the one who had the idea for a game show in the first place and he took the entire initiative..The teachers enjoyed his show a lot too...tho naiyyer, atleast next time cut out your accent....and your Russel Peter Jokes..no one got them...
8. I also want to thank Mohit for lugging around speakers and projectors and chairs and other stuff that weighed more than him...thanks dude...(btw if anyone of you comment on MY weight, im just gonna delete that post..so dont bother... )
9. Next is Maleka..Her speech was short, to the point and full of emotion. you could feel that she wrote the entire thing herself, and not just copy pasted it from some website (unlike our senior)...
10. my heartfelt thanks also goes to Javed. He had written a shayeri just for the teachers and cms..thanks dude...next time just check the mike properly, or try speaking without a mike...u werent audible in the back..but the teachers loved it...
11. I really want to aplaud abhinav..he is the one who drew all the teachers carricatures..at the end of the day, suhaib, mehul and i went around all the facultie's cabins, pasting the pictures on their doors..you can check them out 2morro...
12. Our seniors who actually did work was Suhaib, Mehul and Abdullah. Many thanks to them, otherwise the whole event wud not have happened at all..I also thank my anchoring partner sheeba and our glorious vp Meeraj..
13. Last of all, but most imp for me i want to thank Nisha Zaid and farhan, who form my pillars of support in the class..They always cheer me up when im down and always support me through the bad times...they always keep me constantly motivated to giv emy best...Thanks guys.....
So thats pretty much it...Im sure i missed a lot of names, people who contributed to the evnt.actually, our entire class deserves credit...SO THANK YOU MBA 1st SEM !!!!! God Bless You ...and we should rock even harder during the next event....
Ciao,
Varun Nair.

ReplyDeletehmmm k thnks :[ i hope so,,,
ReplyDeletethis kind of reaction was hardly expected from you (J.S should act responsibly)
ReplyDeletewhy you are being so serious ...
vote of thanks was never so essential for us as contribution of eachone of us was so visible...n by mentioning few names "just to keep ur heart" would have reduced some sincere effort of others...
basically it was teacher's day n justice was done thanking them ....as some of teachers didnt bother to come n those who managed left early...
for seniors
Thanks
for your PROFESSIONALISSM
for your dedication
for your compassion
without your guidance we never could have done this ourselves....
Hmmmm...ur probably right zaid...i had posted tht long ramblings when i was still a bit pissed off..but i slept tht night and when i woke up the next morning i had forgotten all abt everything..but i still stand firm tho..i think u misunderstood me btw..the above post of mine was purely my PERSONAL vote of thanks..they are just the names of people who reassured me when i was feeling tensed...Its no way the views of the class or any other individual..the people mentioned are purely from my prespective..if anyone else gave the vote of thanks, it would have been completely different..
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you zaid, for teaching me the art of responsibility...we all know what a responsible young gentleman you are (hehehehehe...sorry, but i just cudnt help taking a swipe at you...)Others please note tht just because i became js doesnt mean tht im someone great..im still the normal, lonely, somewhat moody young boy..im very emotional, and i dont have such a strong heart..i get hurt even by small actions of others, since im so sensitive..so from time to time, i tend to get mood-off and cranky or depressed..so sorry, i apologize if i offended people..but this is the way i am, and i cant change myself so fast,,but im trying tho..thts the whole reason why i became JS in the first place, so i can learn and improve myself..i hope all of you will help me do so..
Thanks!
-Varun

ReplyDeleteI just landed on this page somehow. I guess I don't know most of you and I do not expect any one of you to know me, but it was interesting going through the different posts on this blog. Good work Varun, very impressive concept I must say. I guess all batches had a yahoo group, but this blog idea was quite new. And of course, I could identify with most of what you had posted. ;)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Asad Zaidi
